green smoothie time

If you're feeling a little jaded, post-party, I have just the breakfast recipe for you. Caught this morning on my iPhone, a green smoothie to be reckoned with.  This one is a thick, achingly healthy, sweet concoction made for new beginnings/ Mondays.

We have: A whole beetroot, a knob of ginger, juice of 1 lemon, half a pear, a cup of coconut water, 6 small kale leaves and 1 celery stalk, all whizzed to smooth oblivion in my Vitamix blender (which they've sweetly loaned to me). The Vitamix makes things incredibly smooth, making short work of ice and beetroot. If you've ever blended either in anything with a less powerful motor, you will know what I'm talking about. This is not a green smoothie, quite, but stained with the blood-coloured goodness of beetroot. Have you got into the green smoothie routine? I'm just starting out, but I'm going to post the best of my experiments here and would love to hear your ideas.
